Van Hise Hall Mediated Classroom Descriptions

Multimedia Touch Panel Lecture Halls and Classrooms

Lecture Halls - Van Hise 104 and 114
Classrooms - 155, 159, 355, 367, 374*, 375, 378*, 379, 383, 387, 483, 575, 579

Note that a key and an access code are required to use the A/V equipment in these classrooms.

These rooms feature a document camera, multi-standard VCR, Region-free DVD player, laptop hookup, and a touch panel control system.They supported and maintained by the Space Management Office.

You can ask for one of these rooms during the normal Timetable scheduling period. Ad hoc requests should be directed to the Curricular Services.

* Two-Way Mirror Classroom (Van Hise 374, 378)

Note that in addition to touch panel equipment, Van Hise 374 and 378 are equipped with a two-way mirror. These were designed for use by foreign language methods classes to observe a teacher/class at work. There is a microphone/PA system connecting the two rooms.

AV Classrooms (Van Hise 2^nd Floor)

Eleven classrooms on the second floor of Van Hise are also scheduled several months in advance by our office. Although no permanent equipment is stored in these rooms, these rooms do have easy access to the LSS AV Pool which is on the same floor. Courses with heavy demand for A-V equipment have priority for use. You can ask for one of these rooms during the normal Timetable scheduling period. Ad hoc requests should be directed to Curricular Services.

Classroom Movie / AV Lab (254 Van Hise)

This classroom has been specially equipped with video, slide, and motion picture projection equipment and can be scheduled for classes or groups on an ad hoc, first-come-first-served basis. The video projector handles all video formats (VHS, Beta, 3/4"; NTSC, PAL, SECAM) and the VGA and Macintosh microcomputer display formats. Contact Andrea Miller (262-4261) or fill out our reservations form to request a reservation. to schedule the use of this room. First-time users should request training. Capacity: 30.

Video Conference Studio/Viewing Room (294 Van Hise)

Studio B(294 Van Hise) within LSS is available for Video Conferencing and for videotaping lectures. The room is also equipped with video projector, DVD/videotape playback equipment, document camera for projection, a PC laptop with webcam, 40" TV monitor and a surround sound system for video/computer viewing. The room seats approximately 25 and the table configuration therein is not to be moved. Contact Andrea Miller (262-4261) or fill out our reservations form to request a reservation.
