LSS Mobile Computing
Thanks to a generous grant from Hewlett-Packard, LSS is able to offer wireless computing for use in any Van Hise classroom.
Recently classes have used mobile wireless computers to chat in foreign languages, browse online picture galleries, check in on news from around the world, record interviews and group discussions, share written responses to movie clips, and use CD-ROM language learning software.
All of the computers have wireless Internet connectivity, and come with word processing and other standard software. Self-guided tutorials can be scheduled for any of the devices so that your students can learn how to use the computers and the wireless network before coming to class.
We have a number of different models available for classroom use, so please take a look at the list of options below, and let us know how you would like to make mobile wireless computing a part of your lessons. For more information, please contact Doug Worsham (262-4965) or any member of the LSS Instructional Technology staff.
