Assignment truncation problems in Moodle with Internet Explorer 8

Students using Internet Explorer 8 to work on their online moodle courses have reported a problem when completing online assignments.   The problem occurs when saving the online assignment; only the first sentence of the submitted text is saved.   It doesn't matter if the text is cut and pasted, or typed in place. 

We expect that this behavior will be corrected in a Windows patch or updated release of Internet Explorer 8.  To work around the problem, we ask that students use Mozilla Firefox.  You can download Firefox free at http://getfirefox.com.
