Moodle

Moodle is a course management system which emphasizes interactivity among students and instructor.  It provides a spectrum of functions suitable for courses that meet face-to-face, as well as pure distance courses.

The L&S Moodle server is available to instructors in the College of Letters and Science.  L&S instructors use many Moodle features, including:

  • course material distribution
  • online and traditional assignments
  • collaborative activities
  • discussion forums
  • calendars
  • quizzing
  • grading

L&S Learning Support Services offers one-on-one consulting with instructors, or facilitates small group training for instructors or students.  Our department supports the campus movement to examine Moodle as an alternative to Learn@UW.

To learn more about Moodle or to request a Moodle course, email Sue Weier at sue@lss.wisc.edu.  You can also visit the Moodle website at http://moodle.org.
