Time to Talk about Teaching and Learning at tle.wisc.edu

Since its launch in January 2009, the Teaching and Learning Excellence website has become UW-Madison's online home for conversations about teaching and learning.

On the site, you'll find many opportunities to dive in and get engaged with the growing community of faculty, instructors, and staff that are discussing their ideas and sharing resources. Key areas of the site include:

• Teaching & Learning Solutions - As a campus clearinghouse for solutions to teaching and learning challenges, this area of the site gets more and more exciting as the community grows. Current solutions range from topics recently in the news (like this list of ways to use Twitter for teaching) to approaches to long-standing teaching challenges (like these ideas for improving the classroom climate in large lectures or suggestons for what to do on the first day of class).
• Discussion forums -The discussion forums provide a place for the teaching and learning community on campus to connect, ask questions, and spark conversations on key topics and new ideas. You'll find discussions on knotty problems and course management, a forum area specifically for future faculty to connect, an area to announce awards and grants, as well as an open questions forum for "any questions related to Teaching & Learning at UW-Madison."
• Aaron Brower's blog - The blog page for our Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning is a great place to keep pace with campus conversations around the The Wisconsin Experience, innovative approaches, and the future of the teaching and learning landscape at UW-Madison.
• Teaching and Learning Symposium - This part of the site keeps conversations and presentation archives from the annual Teaching and Learning Symposium. It is perfect for catching up on sessions you may have missed, or opening up conversations before and after the conference.

In the coming months the site will also feature a new section devoted to teaching ideas for Michael Pollan's book In Defense of Food as part of the Go Big Read initiative.
