Preparing Your Course for Social Distance Teaching

UW-Madison departments, schools and colleges are currently working to identify essential courses and planning to provide continuity to these courses in the event of a disruption such as a flu pandemic. Initial plans are due September 30.

Here are some resources which may be helpful in preparing courses for social distance teaching:

• Preparing your Course for Social Distance Teaching provides help to instructors who are developing their social distance teaching plans. It walks through a variety of decisions you will need to make, provides several examples, and provides links to example syllabi. This and other academic planning documents can be found on the UW-Madison Influenza Information and Prevention website.

• The UW-Madison Teaching and Learning Excellence website now has a section on Instruction in Time of Pandemic. After logging in with NetID and password, UW-Madison faculty and staff can exchange ideas for modifying lectures, writing, discussions, exams, and groups.
