How to turn your iPod into a boombox

July 29, 2009 by LSS Lab Attendants

Connecting your iPod to a speaker from the AV Pool is easy

While most people use portable media players (like the iPod) for solitary listening, these players work just as well when playing back audio files to a small or large group. All you need is a powered speaker and the right audio cables. If you have a portable media player, you'll find everything else you need in the L&S LSS AV Pool. You can reserve the speaker (and cables) online, by calling 262-1678 or dropping by 275 Van Hise.

For classes with under 100 students, ask for the Yamaha QSK.100. This speaker has incredible sound and is small enough to carry around. Connecting the equipment is easy, but if you'd like some help, arrive early when picking up the equipment and the AV Pool lab attendants will show you everything you need to know.

Be sure to check out our How-to Guide that shows just how easy it is to use your portable media player with one of the AV Pool's speakers, or in a Van Hise mediated classroom.

Have fun, and let us know if you have any questions!
