International Channels available on DATN

The Digital Academic Television Network (DATN) now provides several international channels for UW-Madison students, faculty and staff.  All users can access the channels at http://datn.wisc.edu and can view broadcasts on computers with a wired connection -- not by a wireless internet connection -- anywhere on the UW-Madison campus (including university housing).
 
International channels now available:

NTV America (Russia)
Channel One Russia
RAI International (Italy)
TV5 (France)
DW-TV (Germany)
Al Jazeera -- in English -- (Qatar)
Arabic Radio and Television (Saudi Arabia)
tvK (Korea)

Setting a Firefox Live Bookmark for Digital Learning Lab Files

Mostly likely, the media files for your course will be set before the semester and they will not change.  In this scenario, a live bookmark is not as advantageous as it would be if the course files were constantly updated.  One benefit of using a live bookmark, however, is that all media files will be bookmarked (with your course as a heading) instead of solely bookmarking the course listing.

Not only are LSS staff available to assist with summer and fall courses, but also items from the AV Pool and media collection are available for reservation and checkout (even when the AV Pool and Learning Lab are closed.) Summer hours are listed below.

Both labs will be closed May 16-June 15.

Spring Break Hours

Redbud tree in blossom.The LSS Info Lab and Learning Lab will close Friday, March 13, at 3:30 pm.
The AV Pool will close Friday, March 13 at 4:00 pm.
All will reopen Monday, March 23 at 8:30 am.

LSS offices will remain open during spring break.

All Student Lab Attendant positions have been filled.

Applications for the Media Production Program Assistant must be submitted on or before February 2, 2009 to ensure consideration. However, applications will continue to be accepted until the position has been filled.
